Is the swim a mass start?

Yes, there will be a separate mass start for all events. The Olympic Triathlon/Duathlon/Relay will start promptly at 8am. The Sprint Triathlon/Duathlon will start promptly at 9am. The Try-a-Tri will start promptly at 9:30 am.

How many aid stations will there be and what will be available?

There are 2 aid stations on the run course. Olympic distance athletes will do two laps of the run course and will pass each aid station twice. Nutrition available can vary between years and races, depending upon who the sponsors are.

The general offerings are as follows:

2 stations -Maximum 1.75 km between aid stations

  • Gatorade
  • Water
  • Fresh Fruit
  • Granola bars

Where can I find a map of the race course?

Bike/Run courses are available in the Course page of the website.

How do I find out if there are entries still available and if so, how do I sign up?

Go to the registration link on the website and if the entry page says the race is still open, there will be a link to the sign up form.

Is there a waiting list for the races when they are sold out?

No

I am unable to race. Can I transfer my entry or get a refund?

If you are unable to race due to medical reasons, a 50% refund will be given if the race directors are notified by email prior to the race.

Which Age group will I race in on race day?

All athletes will race their age as of DECEMBER 31, 2017

What is the schedule of events race week?

When can I pick up my race packet?

Are wetsuits allowed?

Yes, in accordance with Triathlon Canada wetsuit / water temperature rules.

Will I need a wetsuit? - What is the average water temperature?

The water temperature averages between 15-25 degrees C in the summer, depending on factors such as rain and recent air temperatures. The water temperature will be determined and announced prior to racing. We have a "current water temp" link on our site.

What is the timing system used for the event?

Sportstats Timing Company using MyLaps Technology chip timing.

What are the cut-off times?

Olympic cut offs: swim = 1 hour, swim+bike = 5 hours, Total (swim+bike+run) = 7 hours
Sprint cut offs: swim = 40 minutes, swim+bike 3 hours, Total (swim+bike+run) = 4 hours
Try-A-Tre cut offs: swim = 30 minutes, swim+bike = 2 hours, Total (swim+bike+run)= 3 hours
